Bioinformatics Community PL Meet-up #5 - bringing together Poland’s bioinformatics community#
On 11 July 2026, more than 100 participants representing over 50 organizations from academia and industry gathered in Kraków for the fifth edition of the Bioinformatics Community PL Meet-up. The event provided a space for researchers, students, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge, discuss current challenges, and build new collaborations across the Polish bioinformatics ecosystem.
The scientific programme covered a broad range of topics, including computational approaches to targeted nanomedicine, viral genomics and the role of bioinformatics in virology, software architecture for clinical trial data, peptide function prediction using machine learning, research and education in bioinformatics, and strengthening collaboration between academia and the life sciences industry.
One of the highlights of the event was the expert panel discussion, “Reproducible Bioinformatics Research: From Academia to Industry,” curated by PaperQC. The discussion brought together experts from academia and industry to share practical perspectives on reproducible research, software development, data management, and best practices that support reliable and transparent bioinformatics.
Beyond the talks, the meet-up offered extensive networking opportunities that encouraged new connections between researchers, students, and professionals from across the life sciences sector.
